LIBRARY SIGN COMMISSION - NOW CLOSED
SPRING 2021
PROJECT OVERVIEW
The Library Team is looking forward to showcasing student work in our collections. Signs are critical to helping people feel effective and empowered in the library -- they help people find what they seek. We are looking for artists - individuals or collabs -- to design signage for our revamped fiction section. These signs will help people:
- understand what type of books are in each genre section
- locate sections and titles that capture their interest
- see our students' creativity and contributions to our school
APPLICATIONS -- DUE WEDNESDAY, MARCH 25
This is a commission project. That means you will apply, with samples of your work, and if selected, be commissioned to create signs for our space. The commission is an agreement you make to fulfill an order, within a time frame and meeting certain specifications. (See below for requirements.)
To apply, please complete THIS FORM. Forms will be collected until the end of the day on March 25. The form will ask you for contact information, some ideas about who you are as artists, what drew you to the project, and samples of your work. You can upload pictures of your work to the form. Chosen commission artists will be contacted on Thursday, March 26 or Friday, March 27.

|
TELL A STORYYour sign needs to point to the genre's potential: What topics does it cover? Which characters populate it? What settings are common? What features of this genre set it apart, and how might you represent those?
