Borrowing from the Library
How do I borrow books from the Library?
Come to the circulation desk (the main desk) and show your student ID card.
Do I need my student I.D. to borrow from the Library?
Yes; you can also use your student number, which is posted to SchoolZone
How can I find out what books I have signed out?

May I borrow a laptop?
Yes. Students may sign out laptops, netbooks, or chromebooks when they have their student ID card. These computers are for in-library use only.
Teachers may reserve computer carts by booking them on the Ainlay Staff Info site.
May I sign out a textbook from the library?
Yes. The library handles most of the textbook distribution and collections for the school. that Harry Ainlay. Students will come to the library with their classes to sign out textbooks. A student ID cards must be presented to sign out a textbook.
I think I've lost something that I borrowed from the library. What should I do?

Yes! All employees are welcome to borrow from the library.
How long may I keep library materials?
Students: The loan period for most library material is 21 days.
Faculty and staff: Most library material is due at the end of each term.
Library books may be renewed if needed. See a librarian to do so.
Studying in the Library
Is the library quiet?
Many students come to the library for a quiet place to study. If you are working on a group project that involves discussion you should consider meeting in a different location. Please help us maintain the scholarly atmosphere to support all students.
May I eat and drink in the Library?
Water is the only beverage permitted in the library. No food please.

When is tech help available in the Library?
Please ask for assistance at the circulation desk. If the person you ask can't figure it out we will find someone who can.
I need to print/photocopy something tricky. Where do I go? Will someone help me?
Please ask for assistance at the circulation desk. The computers in the library are linked to two printers and you can print in colour as well as black and white. There is a coin-operated photocopier located near the circulation desk.
Working in the Library
I am a student and would like to volunteer in the library. Who should I talk to?
Please talk to a librarian. The library needs student workers who are reliable, friendly, cooperative, and have good communication skills. You may choose to enroll in Work Experience to receive credits.
